Getting Started

The best place to begin...

If I'm going to give you all that you need to ensure that herpes is not going to interrupt your life unnecessarily, I need to make one big request of you.

This big request is that you are not angry.
People can and do have different reactions to a herpes diagnosis. These reactions can vary from complete indifference to confusion, to feeling very hurt and very angry.

It's quite possible that you are experiencing mixed emotions of some kind or another.
After all, the circumstances in which you contracted herpes might have been quite tough. You might be angry with someone or you might be coping with relationship breakdown. You might simply be feeling incapacitated by pain.

If you have anger or unhappiness or pain it can be easy to blame the person who gave it to you and to feel that they are responsible for all your ills. But in the long run, blaming other people and other things won't help you.

It's never a good idea to let anger prevent you from moving on. The key to living successfully with herpes is acceptance.

It's important to be able to say 'OK, I have this infection, it is part of me and it's going to stay with me. So I need to learn to live with it.'

So, if you do have anger or pain, I'd like to ask you to find it within yourself to let it go, because in the long run, this is what is best for you.
There are a number of things that you can do to 'let go' of anger and bad feelings.

Contact me at to request an information sheet about how to let go of any anger and bad feelings that you might be experiencing.

Hi, I'm Alison McVey - Life Coach, Healer, Herpes and Relationships counsellor 'It felt like life was just tossing me around and the circumstance was in control rather than me. I desperately needed to chart a personal course for me. I put my complete trust in Alison and I feel a huge debt of gratitude for all that she has done for me. Literally life changing stuff'. RM from Argyll, Scotland

'Alison is an amazing coach. In just a few minutes she put her finger on the realisation that has slowly been dawning on me and brought it into sharp focus. I've come away feeling as if a burden has been lifted and much much clearer about the way forward'. RC from London, UK

'Hand on heart, your sessions turned my misfortune into kick ass and get up and go. I have a new partner and I am happy, confident and in charge of my own life. I'm not sure at which point your sesisons really hit the right point, but I think it was something to do with the exercise of finding what makes an individual tick and the qualities we like in other people and what we are drawn to. Thank you Alison, you are an inspiration'. PL from Glasgow, Scotland
